Career Guidance & Mentoring Of Youth

Career Education and mentoring of youth : Parents and educators play a vital role in a child’s holistic development. Hence, there is an urgent need for creating an ecosystem in school as well as at home, wherein youth get to understand their own strengths & interest and have clarity about what do they want to in life and how to achieve it. Only then will they be motivated to study & work hard to achieve their goals. There is a requirement of a “Guru” with the requisite knowledge to mentor the youth and walk along with them till the destination.

Dheya Career Labs help in creating such an ecosystem in the schools & colleges through digital platforms, wherein the students get to understand themselves, are mentored by senior guides and get to explore various Career options of their interest through interaction with professionals from the field.

Youth from Economically Weaker Section

  • Gross family income is the benchmark used to demarcate/divide people as economically weak or strong. Although, it has no relation with/to their caliber / capabilities, but due to the paucity of funds and opportunities, youth belonging to ESW and BPL isn’t able to contribute to our nation’s progress productively.

  • The issues such as lack of educational and medical facilities, unfulfilling educational and vocational avenues, blocked viewpoint, being unaware of their own surroundings in terms of opportunities and considering themselves unworthy of a better way of living are some of the major issues faced by the youth of EWS

  • Situation is even worse for those living Below Poverty Line. Despite so many policies and aids being given for their upliftment, the story hasn’t changed much in years.  Youth living below poverty lines do not try to go beyond what is available at their locality and has a major issue of motivation & willingness to work to improve their standard of living.

  • WE, at DHEYA Kaaryam, endeavor to break them free from this cycle and merge them with the mainstream in terms of opportunities in every field. To break their mindsets, we help them to realise their strengths and show them possibilities for themselves in the world of work. Thus, Dheya mentors are doing a remarkable job in helping/guiding / motivating them to break free from the chains of this mental barricade and channelise their energy in the areas of their interests and caliber.  We do not just believe in providing them with financial aid but we work at using the available resources in the right manner for the benefit of the concerned segment. In accordance with our nation’s motto of “Aatm Nirbhar ” , we aim at making them self-dependent and have a sustained livelihood. Our project Kaaryam is another step in that direction.

Empowering Disabled Youth

  • Disability, in simple terms, is defined as a physical condition which limits a person’s movements, senses or activities. However, We at DHEYA, believe that the only disability is the inability to see ability. With an aim of turning every disability into a possibility, Dheya Kaarayam is working towards enabling youth with disability, realise their potential, explore their area of interests, strengths and correlate the same with the available options, with a mentor walking along with them throughout the journey.

  • We are working in making a Person With Disability (PWD) not only survive but also sustain, thrive and grow in the world of work. We aim to provide them with an ecosystem, that helps them become aware of own strengths and also helps them to understand various educational and career avenues available to them. After their psychometric assessment, our mentors connect with PWD, motivate them to regard their disability, not as a limitation but concentrate on their uniqueness/skills/abilities. Our main aim is to help them build great careers, become successful to lead a happy and independent l

Marginalized Youth

Marginalised youth such as Commercial Sex Workers & Released Prisoners etc. lead a vulnerable life and are stigmatized with limited economic options and face difficulty in getting a normal livelihood. Most of these youth are illiterate and don’t have any vocational skills, so they find it difficult to get a job. We aim to help these youth to understand their strengths and identify a suitable job role to make a decent livelihood. The path carved for them involves minimum education and acquiring a skill required for their identified job role. We encourage self-employment and have a process of educating them about self-employment and hand-holding them, till they settle down in their chosen business.
